White Cheese Sauce
Cheesy!
There are many variations of this sauce and used in or on a range of dishes. This sauce is the base to many other sauces and absorbs numerous flavours and its all dependant on dish being made. The seasonings and flavours can come from many spices, herbs and ingredients. This could range from grounded black pepper, grated nutmeg, paprika, onions , bay leaf, cloves and much more all altered to the dish of choice.

If you have butter, plain flour, milk and cheese then away you go.

Ingredients:

50g Butter
50g Plain flour
600ml Milk
100g Cheddar cheese

Method:
1) Melt the butter in a pan on a slow heat and once melted add in all the flour and cook out for about 3 minutes stirring out any lumps. Add in your seasoning here.
2) Next gradually pour in the milk, whilst whisking and once all in continue whisking until the sauce thickens. Once thickened remove off the heat, whisk in the cheese and replace back on heat for a further 2 minutes.
