Want Coffee or Gelato?!

Bru Coffee and Gelato, Granby Street, Leicester

Have both, here at Bru!

I didn’t know this was a branch until I looked it up but doesn’t have many branches across the U.K., just four to be precise. Apart from Leicester Bru is located in Harrow, Walthomstow and Cardiff. So Go Leicester!!

Bru is place were we as a couple are regulars and even have our own cosy corner upstairs as long as it’s not already occupied and I usually have to check before we order. Either way once inside we do order our usual choice of beverages and we have said many times that we should have our names on that sofa and always reserved for us!

We have been to this coffee shop/ dessert parlour for elevenses, afternoon tea and evening dessert, every time we find a great atmosphere and excellent friendly service. There are the usual suspects in the beverages selection however there are a few drinks not seen in a regular coffee shop and one of them being a white hot chocolate which is Rakesh’s usual and his favourite, my usual, as well as my favourite is the chai tea latte. I am the one who usually has a cake and big desserts, I will talk you through the ones we have tried between us.

Lets begin with one of my favourites, chocolate junkyard cheesecake and this is a party in the mouth, with a smooth cheesecake, chocolatey top, pieces of milk and white chocolate and caramel bits on top to give it a lovely crunch.

Chocolate cake to top all chocolate cakes, for me anyways. A mousy moist cake that just melts in the mouth. I love chocolate and definitely my go to cake.

Glitter chocolate cake, love how it looks like a glamorous cake. Taste great with the deep reddish colour on the inside.

Biscoff wafflepop is name given to something I tried recently and really enjoyed that I wanted to go back for more but looking like I can just yet. The crispy but soft warm waffle with the crumbly biscuit scattered all over, drizzled with toffee sauce and on the side a cool refreshing taste from scoop of ice cream. For me one of the best flavour to put on or with any sweet treat. Absolutely divine!

Regulars we are and regulars we will remain, plus I recommend this place one hundred percent, if around town, around Leicestershire, or for whatever reason passing by or visiting the city. Step in and enjoy the quirky décor details and funky colourful set of chair, tables and sofa areas. Also in keeping with the city’s history and keeping the character of the building. Sit back, relax and enjoy what Bru has to offer, that I definitely recommend for a cosy afternoon or evening, just an office meeting, a place to bring your study group or the odd bloggers’ hang out, maybe even bump into us!
